upc cablecom uses passbrains for customer-crowdtesting

Zuerich, 23.12.2014. After successful completion of a twelve months pilot phase, upc cablecom launches their crowdtesting program, involving their customers in testing upc cablecom digital TV, Internet, telephony and mobile products. The program has been started in Switzerland and will be further expanded throughout their European markets. upc cablecom had chosen passbrains, the leading crowdtesting platform and services provider, to build and manage their customer communities and for managing testing projects end-to-end. passbrains’ enterprise crowdtesting solution enables corporations in many different industries to implement and run crowdtesting initiatives using the global passbrains tester community and enterprises’ private communities.

“Building customer communities for product testing has become one of our specialties. Within less than a month private communities of thousands of customers can be populated and fully profiled on our platform” says Dieter Speidel, CEO of passbrains AG. “In most cases our enterprise-clients are looking for functional, performance and user experience testing campaigns to validate their new products under real world conditions, before releasing the products for market introduction. We also run post-launch product performance monitoring campaigns to identify specific issues which could be region-specific or related to customers’ system configuration and environment. Depending on the goals of the individual campaign, we select testers based on demographic, configuration and environment related criteria, and manage their engagement throughout the entire project, from test planning to delivery of final test reports. Individual test cycles are run with any number of testers between 50 and several thousands”.

upc cablecom is one of the first companies in Switzerland who recognized the strong benefits of engaging their customers in community-based testing. Ivo Hoevel, Senior Vice President and Marketing and Products Officer: “The collaboration with passbrains enables us to boost the development of our products and services using the valuable contribution provided by our customers through this crowdtesting program”. upc cablecom officially launched their crowdtesting initiative during their first customer crowdtesting event on 10.12.2014 in their new premises in Wallisellen, Switzerland, where customers had the chance to exchange their experience from the first crowdtesting projects and to discuss their questions and suggestions with upc cablecom product managers and representants of the passbrains team.
